This meeting was held at Preston Town Hall and was as usual well attended.
Preston City Council deputy leader Sarah Threlfall, who chaired the meeting, advised that the City Strategy had been agreed and a Health and Wellbeing strategy was being developed to operate under this.d.
Rob Larcombe of Preston City Council reported on the HAF (Holiday Activity and Food) Programme had proved very successful over the summer with a very high take up of places, and it had been confirmed that the programme would continue for the next three years.
It was reported that the Healthy Weight Programme had also proved successful and had delivered 97 adult session and 159 family sessions.
Rob also reported that the UKSPF funding had been sued to promote a huge range of sporting activity.
Paul Blythin of Sport England updated on the Place Partnership and stressed that while progress was being made, this was a long term project.
Four target areas ie Deepdale, St Matthews, Fishwick & Frenchwood and Ribbleton had been selected to be targeted.
The next HWP meeting was set for November 10.
