The first thing to remember with regards to insurance is that it is highly advisable to obtain this for your group.
While technically it is not compulsory, many groups will need certain types of insurance.
For instance, employers’ liability insurance as a legal requirement for those groups who employ full or part time staff.
In addition, public liability insurance, which protects against claims by members of the public, is highly recommended.
Other insurances, such as motor insurance for any vehicles your group operates, is also compulsory.
With this in mind, it is advisable to arrange your insurance through a broker or agent.
While of course there is a charge for their services, this is generally a small percentage built into the premium charge.
A number of brokers and agents can help and some specialise in the VCF area.

Most groups, however small, now have a web presence.
These can generally be in the form of a website but can be a Facebook page, which obviously means costs are minimal.
However, setting up a website can be a daunting prospect if you are not especially IT literate.
