PCN project officer Glenn McDonnell proved a huge hit with the audience at a very well attended networking event organised by Preston MP Sir Mark Hendrick this week.
The event at The Salvation Army HQ, entitled ‘Helping Your Organisation to Help Others’ attracted more than 100 people from various organisations and agencies across the sector, and Glenn was first on the floor as he described how social media and the internet can help VCF groups grow and flourish.
There was an excellent response from the audience, many of whom requested links for Glenn’s slide show as a follow up.
The meeting was also addressed by Liz Mossop, who heads Preston City Council’s community engagement team, and she described the value of third sector voluntary work.
Christine Blyth of the Lancashire Association of CVSs, Tim Craxton of the Idox group and Neil Renwick of the National Lottery Community Fund also addressed the meeting.
