This took place at County Hall and was as usual well attended.
Key speakers included Silas Nicholls, new chief executive of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who gave an overview of the current situation and the huge issues facing the NHS in respect of budgeting, reorganisation and sickness levels across the region.
Cllr Zafar Coupland who chaired the meeting and is also PCN Chair of Trustees requested that PCN be involved in any further discussions as the voice of the sector.
Sarah James of the NHS’s Place Based Partnership gave an update and advised that discussions were ongoing.
Paul Blythin gave an update on the recent Preston Place Partnership initial meetings and advised that this major project should have a huge positive effect on health in the area with a range of initiatives planned.
