This group usually discusses a range of issued but this was a single issue meeting on the proposed siting of the new hospital at a site in South Ribble.
Cllr Zafar Coupland, who chaired the meeting, expressed deep concerns over the proposed site, which has already been purchased, as did Preston City Council leader Cllr Matthew Brown among others.
Tony requested the NHS team guiding the project to provide speakers at the forthcoming PCN networking meeting, and this was agreed.
However, a few days after the meeting, the Government announced a revision of national policy which would mean any work on the project would begin in 2037 at the earliest.
With this in mind, the consultation process has been put on hold and it was agreed the NHS speakers would not now attend the PCN meeting.
