This took place at Preston Town Hall and was as usual well attended and we hope much appreciated by those present..
Speakers were:
Prof Silas Nicholls, new chief executive of the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who gave an overview of the current situation and the aims of the Trust in the coming months and years.
Encouragingly, Prof Nicholls said he was very keen to increase engagement with the VCFSE sector and involve them more in rollouts of health campaign etc,
We were also pleased to welcome Paul Blythin who gave an update on the recent Preston Place Partnership initial meetings and advised that this major project should have a huge positive effect on health in the area with a range of initiatives planned.
The other speaker was Ed Walker of Blog Preston who explained how the website was developing as a major source of news in the area, and he also outlined how health issues in particular were covered.
Our next meeting is in early September.
